Mercy Airlift India Motto: Health for All  and Education for All

Mercy Airlift India (an NGO) was registered on 7^th June 2004 at Office of the Registrar of Societies Ongole 523001. Its Registered No: 267 of  2004  Under Indian Societies Act 35 of 2001. In India  there is a Motto called  “ Health is Wealth ”   By health we do not mean that the absence of physical troubles only, but it is a state of complete physical, mental  and social well being too.  India has made rapid strides in the health care sector since its independence, various eye opening data from NHRM (National Health Rural Mission) clearly indicate that the access to healthcare still remains a challenge task. While the health statistics of rural villages in India continue to be lack and poor.  The health status and access to health for the poor in village rural people has surfaced to equally deplorable and have less than only 5% of Government Primary Health Care Facilities. In rural villages people suffers from various health conditions owing to mainly three reasons, 1. Lack of Health and Education Awareness  2. Lack of transportation facilities from village to nearby town or city 3. Unwillingness to lose a day’s wage in order to reach the nearest medical facility. Healthcare for underprivileged and deprived which is a desperate need,  thus remains unaddressed in India still.

Mercy Airlift  India has come forward to  work  on Health for All and Education for All since its established. Its working mainly among  underprivileged and suppressed communities in rural villages of Prakasam District, the District population is above 33 millions. Thus far Mercy Airlift India has reached 4 villages and has been conducted 4 free medical clinics, nearly 4 thousand people have been treated and distributed free medicines for the poor and needy people in those 4 villages.  Mercy Airlift India has collected local funds by friends and well wishers  to conduct these programs.

One among the numerous challenges in the healthcare sector in India has been lack of access to quality services for the poor and marginalised communities.  This has been largely due to dismal investment in public healthcare which is just at 1% of the GDP – among the lowest in the world.  The healthcare infrastructure came under considerable strain during the Covid 19 pandemic and exposed the shortcomings.  But there are several NGO’s  which are identifying the root causes of healthcare challenges and  are coming up with innovative solutions.  They are working in various areas such as child and reproductive health, nutrition, early identification of diseases, and treatment of communicable diseases.

In such a scenario Mercy Airlift India is dedicating  completely to work among  rural downtrodden, underprivileged and  deprived communities on health and education.  Our goal is to continue improving the health & education of the rural downtrodden and deprived communities who faces social and financial challenges.  Mercy Airlift India  would like to establish free healthcare clinics in rural villages and send the nurses and healthcare workers weekly twice  to treat them and distribute free medicines those who are needy. Mercy Airlift India would like to train up rural youth girls and boys also (on Community Health Education Program) to go to every village and teach them about the importance of health and education.
